Forgotten Gems: Gilbert Gottfried Reads “50 Shades of Grey”

Imagine someone threatening to use this College Humor skit from 2015 as a form of torture! The sultry voice of Gilbert Gottfried reading from the #1 best seller “50 Shades of Grey” would be anything but torture! It absolutely still tickles the funny bones.

Gottfried unfortunately passed away earlier this year. His work as characters like the Aflac Duck, Iago in “Aladdin,” and other iconic roles are something to fondly look back on, we think.

If this reading doesn’t get your blood boiling I don’t know what will. The inflections on words like.. well, I won’t type them here. Just a word of advice- if you’re listening to this with people around, either turn down the volume or put in some ear buds. Some of the things he reads would make anyone blush.

Howard Stern once aired his real voice on his show to which Gottfried was not happy with. His whole outward persona was based on the screeching elaborative tone that he had created. While he was angry with Stern for airing his real voice that was taken from a message he left on a machine, we’re glad now to have the opportunity to hear it.
