New Peter S. Beagle “The Last Unicorn” Stories are Coming!

If you grew up loving “The Last Unicorn,” we’ve got some exciting news for you. There are multiple projects in the works for Peter S. Beagle‘s “The Last Unicorn,“ including a live-action film and a stage play directed by Fergie. But there’s even MORE exciting news that could lead to even more projects. Beagle himself has written more stories to continue where the first book/movie left off.

    THE LAST UNICORN, 1982

The collection is called “The Way Home,” and will contain two new novellas by Beagle. “The Way Home” will continue the story of beloved characters unicorn, Molly Grue, and Schmendrick the Magician from the point of view of a young girl named Sooz.

According to TOR, we’re also getting a new addition of the original book with Beagle‘s preferred text and an introduction by Patrick Rothfuss (“The Kingkiller Chronicle”). This will mark the first time that “The Last Unicorn” will be available in eBook form.

It was pretty tough growing up being a fan of this film and story. There was next to nothing officially licensed available for it. With the rights to “The Last Unicorn” back with Peter S. Beagle, it’s a safe bet we can expect more official merchandise in the years to come. (Like this really cool Last Unicorn Tarot deck!)

The updated edition of “The Last Unicorn” novel will be available starting July 26th, 2022. You can pre-order it here.

“The Way Home” is set for a spring 2023 release.
