Stay in the Iconic Moulin Rouge Windmill Thanks to Airbnb

The famed Moulin Rouge Cabaret in Paris is ready to offer a once in a lifetime stay in a secret room inside the iconic windmill. That’s right- you can spend the night reading poetry like Satin and Christian in a special room decked out with 19th century French decor. Though the theater and show itself still runs to this day, the actual windmill and aforementioned room were not open to the public until now.

    Airbnb

The windmill and cabaret club have been a staple of Paris nightlife for centuries. According the official Moulin Rouge website, co-founders Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler opened the Moulin Rouge in Paris’s Montmartre district in 1889, with a goal of creating “the biggest and most beautiful of cabarets; a temple dedicated to Woman, the Dance and the Cancan.” They topped the building with a windmill to pay homage to Montmartre’s past, and painted it red because they wanted it to be seen from everywhere. And now, you can stay inside Moulin Rouge (which literally means ‘red mill’) in a secret room!

The once in a lifetime experience doesn’t just stop at a chance to spend the night in an iconic 19th Century room. The Airbnb package also includes a private tour of the venue, drinks on a private rooftop, a meet-and-greet with lead dancer Claudine Van Den Bergh (who also doubles as the Airbnb host), and an opportunity to take photos on stage with the cast. The lucky guests will also get free tickets to the renowned cabaret show Feerie, as well as a classic 3 course french dinner and a specially crafted breakfast. You can get all of this for just $1 a night.

That’s not a typo. $1/night is all it costs to take advantage of this truly once in a lifetime experience. Sounds too good to be true? Well, There is, of course a catch.

    Airbnb

Yes, you CANCAN get everything listed here for just $1/night. That’s not trickery and the offer is very real. However, the catch is that it is only available for 3 nights in the summer, June 13th, 20th, and 27th. There is a maximum of two guests per booking, and no other dates are available at this time. That means to book it, the odds are about as good as winning the lottery or scoring concert tickets before the scalping bots. You also are required to have an active Airbnb profile with at least 3 positive reviews to request the stay.

Oh and according to Claudine, you have to walk down the stairs to the club next door for the restroom, as the Windmill and room do not have one. So if you’re a midnight bathroom breaker, this may not be the best option for you, even with all the perks.

    Airbnb

The rare tickets will go on sale May 17th, 2022. You can try your chances when it goes live here. It’s a pretty cool offer, and even if you have better odds of being struck by lightening, it’s one helluva deal and once in a lifetime experience for plane ride and a $1.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to download a bot, create an Airbnb profile, get some reviews, and look up flights to Paris.
