6 Advantages of Using Dual Monitors For Gaming

If you are a hardcore PC gamer, you’ve probably followed the gaming scene for years. As a result, you already know that much research and testing are required to find the best settings for your rig.

This process requires you to sit down and play different games on a single screen most of the time. It will help you find the perfect settings that deliver the best gaming experience.

But there’s another setup that can deliver an ultimate gaming experience. Dual monitor gaming is a concept in which a player uses two separate monitors for gaming. The setup is pretty much the same as having two separate monitors connected to the same computer.

If you’re looking to upgrade your gaming setup, or are just curious about the pros and cons of dual monitors for gaming, continue reading for more information about the topic.

Why Use Dual Monitors For Gaming?

Gaming consoles are getting more powerful every year, and so are the games. You need a gaming PC with at least as much power as your console to get the most out of your gaming sessions.

But that’s not really feasible. You can’t buy a gaming PC with the same specifications as a console. That’s why we recommend using a secondary computer monitor for gaming to take advantage of the powerful graphics card built into your PC.

The computer monitors you can use as a second monitor for gaming are also known as secondary displays. Dual monitors are a great way to maximize your gaming potential.

6 Advantages of Dual Monitors for Gamers

    1. Live Stream Gaming Sessions

Dual monitors will enable you to live stream your gaming sessions while playing. Two monitors help to do this because you can view chats or comments on one monitor while playing a game on the other one.

If you’re a Twitch streamer especially, dual monitors are a necessity. They would help you easily play your game on one monitor while you use streaming tools on the other.

A second touch screen monitor for pc is an even better idea. While playing, a large touch screen monitor will enable you more control easily. Fiddling with a mouse can distract you while you play your game. Meanwhile, clicking through your touch screen monitors is a far more convenient experience.

    2. Immersive Gameplay

Another benefit of gaming with dual monitors is that it affords you an immersive experience. If you’re a fan of racing games, for example, you will enjoy a more realistic feel of the game.

Let’s say you use a curved 4k touch screen monitor, this will allow you to immerse yourself in the game and make you feel like you’re the character you’re playing. Such games transport you to an alternate world via their special techniques.

    3. Multitasking Made Easy

With dual screens, you will be able to multitask on the computer. It will also allow you to open several windows or tabs at a time. This is particularly useful so you can browse game settings, watch videos, or perhaps play games simultaneously.

You can also check other information on a game. Imagine doing all this while enjoying your favorite game on the other monitor?

    4. Save on Costs

The only alternative to using dual monitors for gaming for the optimum gaming experience is to use one large monitor. However, there’s a catch: large monitors are pretty pricey.

It is cheaper to get two slightly smaller monitors for gaming than to use one large one. Getting two monitors will therefore help you to save on costs while still experiencing excellent gaming.

    5. Easier on the Eyes

You can now see things at a further distance by increasing the viewing distance between your monitors and your eyes. I tell you, you don’t have to sit so close to your monitor while gaming when you have dual monitors.

You might be squinting to see or read smaller images or lettering on the screen. Sitting too close to the screen will also allow continuous blue light to get into your eyes.

Over time, this can cause catastrophic consequences for your eyes. However, with the visuals enlarged on dual monitors, you can sit a bit further than usual, which will reduce the stress on your eyes.

    6. Increased Clarity and Detail

Having two screens allows you to show things at a higher resolution than you’d be able to with just a single monitor. This is because you can spread out your game on the two monitors. As a result, you will see details and clarity in the game you’re playing.

In addition, you can also enlarge the map of the game you’re playing on your second monitor making it easier to navigate your way in the game world. Having it all on another monitor is so much easier to look at, right?

4 Things to Consider Before Buying Dual Monitors

Now that we’ve discussed the benefits of dual monitor gaming, I bet you’re all set to get yours. But wait! Before you rush off to get yours, there are a few things to consider.

    1. Screen Size

If you already have a monitor, you can get another for gaming purposes. We recommend that you get one the same size as the one you already have. If you’re buying two monitors at once, get same-sized monitors.

Monitors that are the same size will perform uniformly. This way, if you spread your game to both screens, they will align perfectly.

    2. Connectivity

Contrary to popular belief, dual monitors are pretty easy to set up. Just make sure that you check that your computer’s graphics card supports two monitors. You might have to get another graphics card if it has only one video port.

However, most modern graphics cards already come with at least two video ports. So you should have no trouble connecting them to your computer.

Ensure that the connector type for the second monitor is the same as the first. If not, you will have to use an adapter.

    3. Frame Thickness

The thickness of your monitors’ frames is essential. Thinner bezel widths are better for dual monitor setups. They enhance your viewing experience with very little space between the monitors when you place them side by side.

If your first monitor has a regular bezel, you can get a second monitor with a thinner monitor frame. The second monitor will improve your overall gaming experience.

    4. Extra Accessories

You might need to get various accessories to optimize your gaming experience. For example, you can get a mount, a stand, or an arm. Depending on your application and goal, you might also need a rotation function. Check to confirm if your monitor supports any accessories you want to buy before actually buying it.

    Conclusion

PC gaming has become more and more popular. And dual monitor setups are great for improving your overall gaming experience. Thanks to their powerful hardware and numerous different gaming options, they elevate something ordinary to something ultimate. And with the introduction of dual gaming monitors, gamers can now enjoy their favorite games on two monitors simultaneously. This increases the game field and gives you a clearer view of your gameplay, helping you stay focused on the action.

Apparently, you can also use portable monitors which are ultra lightweight, slim, stylish in design, highly compatible for all the devices. Here, we recommend buying monitors from a reputable brand like “Desklab” that manufactures advanced portable gaming monitors that are super responsive, energy-smart and connect to all devices.
