We are delighted to report that Paramount has renewed “Star Trek: Discovery” for a 5th season! Not only that, but we know when “Star Trek: Picard” season 2 is dropping, and more!

It was announced today that “DISCO” got renewed for season 5!

“Picard” season 2 will premiere on Thursday, March 3rd. The show is currently in production on season 3.

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” starring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Mr. Spock has been renewed for season 2 ahead of it’s premiere. “Strange New Worlds” will debut on Paramount+ on Thursday, May 5th with weekly episodes dropping after that.

“Star Trek: Lower Decks” season 3 will release in the summer of 2022. AND, it got renewed for season 4!

“Star Trek: Prodigy“ season 1’s first half will continue airing on Thursdays, with episode 10 available to stream on February 3rd. The second half of season 1 will be available on Paramount+ later in 2022. It will also be 10 episodes long.

Alex Kurtzman, Executive Producer of the Star Trek franchise said of the news:

“Four years ago, we made a promise to grow Star Trek into something it had never been before, and thanks to the incredibly hard work done by our many talented showrunners, writers, and directors, along with the extraordinary support of CBS Studios and Paramount+, we’re keeping our word. Now our current shows are set up for the future as we work to build Trek’s next phase of programming for years to come.”

    So, let’s boldly go!

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
