The ongoing fallout following the tragedy that occurred on the set of western film “Rust” is far from over. Alec Baldwin, producer and star of the film, as well as the literal smoking gun holder, is once again speaking out.

In a new teaser for an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin adamantly declares he “didn’t pull the trigger” of a gun, which was loaded with live ammunition, which struck and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, as well as injuring director Joel Souza.

“Well, the trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin tells Stephanopoulos. Which of course raises the question…then how did the live ammunition (aka bullet), leave the weapon then?

EXCLUSIVE: "The trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger," Alec Baldwin tells @GStephanopoulos in first interview since fatal shooting on set of "Rust."

In a previously released statement the day following the tragedy, Baldwin had said:

“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

We already know that safety concerns, as well as willful negligence, have already been well-documented from the union crew on the production. Many of whom actually walked out the week before the shooting occurred, as well as the day before, and the morning of.

“Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and her father Thell Reed continue to be…persons of interest. Detective Alexandria Hancock has requested a search warrant to investigate “armorer mentor” Seth Kenney‘s place of business, as dad-Reed indicated it was Kenney who provided the ammunition used on the production.

Baldwin’s interview is set to air on ABC Thursday, December 2nd.
