Another trailer for Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story” has released, and it’s amazing! It serves all the cinematic vibes the teaser gave. I mean, I got goosebumps! This time, we get a closer look at the blossoming love between Maria (Rachel Zegler) and Tony (Ansel Elgort). The struggle between their respective communities is beautifully introduced in the new 2-minute trailer.

If you don’t know…
“West Side Story” is a musical retelling of the Shakespeare classic “Romeo & Juliette.” Two young people from warring communities fall in love, and their story ends in tragedy.
It was originally a Broadway musical with its book written by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. The first Broadway production hit the stage in 1957. In 1961, it was adapted as a film by directors Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins, starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, and Rita Moreno. It was nominated for 12 Academy Awards, winning 11 of them, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Moreno.
Moreno also appears in this new version!

We expect nothing but greatness from Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” but it *does* have some high standards to live up to.
“West Side Story” is set to release on December 10th, 2021.
