It’s summer so you know what that means. Hot Dogs, bbqs, and pool time. But what happens when you go to grill your hot dogs and come up two buns short? Who’s getting those extra two amazing hot dogs that now lack a partner? Well Heinz is looking to change that dynamic by creating a change.org petition. Now moving forward they hope that hot dog bun makers will sell ten buns instead of the traditional eight.
Hot Dogs usually come in packs of ten so it’s always a wonder why buns don’t as well. While hot dogs do taste good on their own it’s always a shame when you can’t cradle them in bread and relish in the moment. (See what I did there? Also, I’m sorry.)
Heinz is well on their way to reaching their goal of 25,000 signatures Their platform is “10 Wieners. 10 Buns. It’s time.”
Not all petitions pass on the Change.org platform, but we’re hoping this one does.
Hot dog wieners come in packs of 10. Hot dog buns come in packs of 8. WHY?! As the condiment that has been bringing foods together for over 150 years, we’ve decided enough is enough. That’s why we started the Heinz Hot Dog Pact. We’re calling on Big Bun and Big Wiener companies to find the answer to this hot dog packaging mismatch, once and for all. We need your signatures more than ever. Let’s change hot dog history together.

Now I’m not saying this will solve all the world’s problems but it will help with a minor annoyance. I’ve never minded the extra hot dogs, heck I’ll eat them cold out of the package(don’t judge). But for many it will make summers feel well, more even and that’s something we can all agree would be a good thing. We don’t want anyone with Imparnumerophobia (fear of odd numbers) to have a bad time because there’s not enough buns to go around.
