It’s exciting to sign up for Charter’s cable plans and get up to 200 channels in various genres. I am assuming you just don’t want to wait to experience the beauty of a High-definition display. If you need any assistance call Spectrum 1800 number. But to have a seamless experience, you must first set up and program the remote.

    Programing Your Charter TV Remote

When you sign up for Spectrum’s cable plan, you receive a digital box and DVR in your mail. Before programming the remote, it’s important you have the kit. In the kit, you will find a universal remote.

You may use another remote as well but normally, it’s recommended to use a universal remote. It allows you to control the entire home theater, including your cable box, audio device, TV, and DVD player. Everyone likes universal remotes because they are compatible with a range of devices. It can be annoying to use two remotes to operate one thing, right? A universal remote frees you from the pain of swapping remotes every few seconds.

Note: In the kit, you will find a manual/sheet containing remote codes. It’s important to hold on to them since you will need them to operate your equipment.

Steps to Program Your Charter Remote

Now let’s get right into programming the remote. No rocket science is involved. All it takes is a few minutes, and you would be saving a lot of valuable time later on. Before getting started, locate the “setup” and/or “power” buttons on the remote. This will keep you from searching for the right buttons in the middle of the procedure.

Without further ado, let’s see how to set up the remote:

    1. Find the 4-digit code of the device you are going to program. Look into the manual to find the find.
    2. Turn on the device you would like to program with the remote (DVD players, VCR, or any other device)
    3. From the remote, press the relevant button to program the device
    4. Hold and press the button to turn on the device you are programming. For instance, if you are programming the DVR, turn on the DVR by holding its power button.
    5. Use the remote’s keypad to enter the 4-digit code
    6. Press the “power button on the remote and keep it pressed until the device turns off
    7. If the device does not turn off, you must start from step 1 again.

This is the standard procedure for programming all sorts of devices. Every time you want to program a new device with your remote, repeat these steps. All you have to do is enter the code, and your device is ready to use.

Charter Remote Codes for Popular Devices

For many subscribers, the only complex part of this procedure is finding the right code. If you lost the manual that contained all codes, no worries. Do a web search to find Charter remote codes. They are widely available. You just need to know the right place to look. The codes vary across manufacturers, so it’s best to list down the codes of all devices you use and keep it somewhere safe.

Wishing there was an easy way to find the codes? You are in luck. To reduce the legwork and the hassle, here’s a list of codes for different brands.

A Quick Way to Find Codes

There is another way to find codes for your device/brand. It’s painful to memorize all codes, especially if you are the type of person who struggles to remember numbers. Luckily, Spectrum remotes have a built-in library of codes. Now, you won’t find all codes, but there are good chances your manufacturer is covered if it’s popular.

When setting the remote, follow these steps to find the code:

    • After turning on the device, you wish to program, press the setup button
    • Enter the “9.9.1” from the remote’s keypad
    • You should be able to see all codes stored in the remote
    • Search the code and enter it by looking at the screen

    Wrapping Up

This is it. You are now ready to watch content provided by Spectrum TV on any device. Sometimes, you are unable to find the code for your device. In that case, call support, and they should be able to help.l
