“Wheel of Time” Season 2 is Already in the Works!

The short answer to our headline question is YES. The longer, more complicated answer fits pretty well in line with “The Wheel of Time.” As fans of the series know, sometimes the truth comes in a slightly round about way. The upcoming Amazon Prime series, based on the fantasy novels by Robert Jordan (later completed by Brandon Sanderson following Jordan’s death) hasn’t even premiered yet, but a second season is already in process.

Rumors have been wild about season 1 completing filming this past week. We were expecting the official Twitter for the show to confirm that news this morning (WoT Wednesday and all), but things were strangely silent.

BUT THEN, Twitter user Default Rant (heh, nice!) posted this sneaky image, to which the official account responded. Not confirming the news, but not denying it either?

Ummm…me seen it, but ok delete it if you wan pic.twitter.com/mv3BgdO1tM

The official account did however say that showrunner Rafe Judkins will be hosting a Q & A on his Instagram tomorrow. So…maybe we’ll get a confirmation!

Light you’re quick. We were saving it as a surprise but we might as well also reveal that Rafe is doing a Q&A on his Instagram tomorrow morning.

Needless to say, we’re pretty darn excited for any “The Wheel of Time” news.

    UPDATE

We are so delighted to confirm that yes, “Wheel of Time” has already been picked up for a second season!

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
