Fans are still hopeful that Sony’s upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” will be worth the wait. After several delays due to the ongoing worldwide pandemic, this could be the big film to bring people back to theaters. Touting a writer/director with strong familial ties to the original franchise, “Afterlife” has a lot of positives already.
Earlier today, original “Ghostbusters” star Dan Aykroyd tweeted this pretty promising message: “Exhilarating. Shows the work of a true master.”
Sure, it’s also an add for Crystal Head Vodka, but we can’t really blame him for that. It *is* a pretty solid base spirit.
The Jason mentioned by Aykroyd is none other than director Jason Riteman, son of Ivan Riteman.
Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things“), Mckenna Grace (“Captain Marvel“), and Logan Kim are the young stars, and they’ll be joined by Carrie Coon (“Fargo“) and Paul Rudd (“Ant-Man“), as well as original “Ghostbusters” stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.
“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is currently slated for November 10th, 2021.
