Finally we will get to see Daniel Levy host the late night comedy skit show “Saturday Night Live.” Saturday Night Live’s official social media channels posted the promotional video and we’re really excited that the “Schitt’s Creek” creator/writer will be hosting for the first time ever.
“Schitt’s Creek” blew us away with how many awards it received at the Emmys last year and it deserved every single one. If you’ve been sleeping on this show you seriously need to start it. It’s a wonderful story about a family that through no fault of their own went bankrupt after their money manager embezzled. It’s funny in a way that’s dark but still endearing. Since it was written by Dan Levy so we know that his sense of humor is on brand with everything we like.
What we’re most excited for is to see what kind of skits he will be contributing to as well as that opening monologue. You could probably make a drinking game out of every time he does that cute little smirk.
A Family Tradition!
This will be the second time a Levy has hosted SNL though to be fair his father Eugene Levy co-hosted with John Candy. Levy was a heavy hitter in “Second City TV” and with that kind of notoriety under his belt was invited to host SNL in season 10 episode 9. “S.C. TV” was basically the Canadian version of SNL here in the states if you ever want to go down that YouTube hole. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
I’m thinking maybe if we’re lucky we’ll get to see Dan and Eugene act out a skit together.
Watch “Saturday Night Live” live on cable television during its normal time Saturday Night on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EST. Viewers on the West Coast of the country can catch the show at 8:30 p.m. PST. If you’re an early sleeper you can catch the episode on Hulu the next morning.
