Nerf is always trying to adapt to stay front and center with kids toys. That means putting out limited designs like Nerf guns based on “The Mandalorian.” Or their series they put out after “Hunger Games” became popular that included a bow and arrows called Rebelle. Now they have something for kids that are a little bit older, and it shoots around corners!
The aim for this particular gun was to target kids who are a little too old for regular Nerf guns, but just under the age to start paint balling. These Nerf Rival Curve Shots can shoot up to 70mph but they are also foam balls so they’re pretty safe. A lot safer than a paint ball anyway.
The Nerf Rival Curve Shot Helix XXI-2000 is shown on the top of the image above. They will become available at Target starting in August. The Rival Curve Shot Flex XXI-100 (bottom, left) and Rival Curve Shot Sideswipe XXI-1200(bottom right) will start showing up at retailers as early as March.
In order to shoot right or left you have to twist the tip of the gun. And it looks like you need to be pretty far away for it to go around the corner. There are some review videos popping up on YouTube as these get closer to their release date.
I would suggest either using this in a long hallway or in the backyard when someone is trying to hide behind a tree.
