Comedian Skateboards Through LA Streets as “The Mandalorian”

Tim Brehmer was seen skateboarding the streets of Los Angeles dressed as Disney+ character The Mandalorian. As first reported by a local NBC affiliate in Southern California, Brehmer does this to bring cheer to those around him during the pandemic. He’s spreading happiness by dressing as Din Djarin and skateboarding with the child through the streets of LA.

    NBC Broadcast

“I’ll just ride behind traffic with everybody. Police officers think it’s hysterical…I’ve been pulled over once…he’s like, ‘Why do you think you can just go through a red light?’ And I went space pirate. Nothing you can do but laugh.”

    NBC

Brehmer faced the problem that most entertainers are now with the pandemic. There is very little work out there and for people like stand up comics, the bars and clubs are at very limited capacity if they’re open at all. He says that he loves making people laugh and that this was the easiest way to do it.

“This whole thing got started because I’m a big box of stupid and I love making people laugh, and when quarantine hit, they were talking about 2022, that we wouldn’t be able to perform again. And a friend of mine was like, ‘dude, the world is your stage, go act on it!'”

    NBC

He also talks about how this is his kind of therapy and that it helps battle depression which is a big effect of the pandemic lately. He says he’s doing this for himself as well as spreading happiness to others.

As a fan of “The Mandalorian” and someone who loves seeing people’s faces light up at conventions, I can imagine that Brehmer is getting the same reaction. It’s been a big part of the nerd community and while people are still cosplaying the interaction is very limited and usually behind a computer screen. So thank you Tim for keeping the nerd spirit alive and well, especially now.
