PBS to Air Both Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas Specials!

We are very pleased to report that PBS, the Public Broadcasting Service, will be airing both animated holiday classics “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” specials. This comes as a surprise, as earlier this year, AppleTV+ (who holds the rights for all Peanuts properties) announced the various holiday specials would be exclusively streamed from their platform, and not on any regular broadcast stations.

PBS announced the news earlier today.

We’re feeling very thankful to team up with @AppleTV to share #ACharlieBrownThanksgiving with you this year! Tune in to this special one-night event on PBS and @PBSKIDS on Sun, Nov 22 at 7:30/6:30c. pic.twitter.com/ADW1R0FvCv

    — PBS (@PBS) November 18, 2020

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will be available in HD starting on November 18th for Apple TV+ subscribers, and will be available for free for anyone to watch from November 25th through November 27th.

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (Sunday, November 22nd) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (Sunday, December 13th) will air [ad free] on PBS and PBS Kids at 7:30pm local time, but make sure to check your local listings.

This is a welcome change, and we are very glad to keep the holiday tradition alive with a little help from PBS.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
