‘Door-To-Door Trick-Or-Treating Is Not Allowed’ Says Official Guidelines for LA County

We were all wondering what would happen this year for Halloween and now we know. Unfortunately we will not be able to go out and trick or treat like we would traditionally this year. We’re yet to see a vaccine come into play for COVID-19 and LA county wants to play it safe. It’s going to be a quiet night this October 31st.

Los Angeles has just announced an official guideline that covers what will and will not be allowed this Halloween.

    Not allowed:

    • Door-to-door trick or treating.
    • Trunk or treating at schools or churches where kids go from car to car and gather treats.
    • Gatherings or parties with non-household members even if they are held outdoors.
    • Carnivals, festivals, live entertainment, and haunted house attractions are not allowed.

    Allowed

    • Car Parades and judged events with these cars done by social distancing.
    • Online parties/contests (e.g. costume or pumpkin carving).
    • Halloween movie nights at drive in theaters.
    • Halloween themed meals at outdoor restaurants.
    • Halloween themed art installations at an outdoor museum.
    • Dressing up homes and yards with Halloween themed decorations.

This means that soon to follow we will hear more about what states and cities will be allowing. LA will be setting a precedent for what may or may not be happening throughout the states.

You can read the whole statement put out by Los Angeles by clicking the link here.

If you are looking for a work around, Mars is opening an app where kids can trick or treat all over for credits that can then be turned into candy coupons. So that may be something that you’re interested in doing to help your kids go through this. They will be allowing them to trick or treat for the whole month of October through this app.
