What to Expect from Apple IOS 14 Software Update

Get ready for a major change with Apple’s latest IOS, 14!  The update was announced during Apple’s WWDC 2020 Special Event Keynote and is scheduled to be released in the fall.

    New Features

The IOS 14 update will aim to improve all the tiny little inconveniences we may find, as well as reimagine the style and look of iPhones and the iPod Touch.

Probably the most noticeable difference will be the way the widgets can be organized on the home screen.  They will be able to be arranged in different ways with different sizes.  This will allow for easier access to information with just a glance.

The App Library will automatically sort your apps into their respective categories, making it simple to find the apps you need.

The next feature is one of the coolest in my opinion.  Apple calls it compact calling, where the display for an incoming phone call or facetime doesn’t occupy the entire screen.  In addition, the new update will allow you to continue your facetime calls or videos without pausing when another app is being used.

Another huge change will be the way messages appear.  You will be able to pin up to 9 of conversations so that they will remain at the top of your messages.

Translating will also become more prominent as it will be able to handle active conversations.  All you need to do is turn your phone horizontally and use the microphone feature to instantly translate conversations.

Siri will also have a new look.  Like the compact calls, Siri will not take up the entire screen, allowing you to continue what you were doing without losing track.

The new software update is compatible with these devices:
