“Coming soon… Free parking, comfy chairs, personalized snacks, no lines, pets welcome, badges for all, and a front-row seat to… Comic-Con at Home,” Comic Con said in an announcement online. Since COVID-19 they had to cancel year 51 of their annual comic convention and attendees and vendors were disappointed. They didn’t really have a choice in the matter but for the health and safety of all involved deemed it necessary to cancel.
There aren’t many details about when this new virtual event will happen but we do know that it IS coming. Which is exciting for those with social anxiety and for those who have been unable to attain a ticket in recent years.
Many other conventions have been cancelled including Anime Expo which announced their cancellation immediately after SDCC announced theirs. There is speculation that Anime Expo may also opt to move to a digital space.
The convention was originally slated to begin July 23.
