Here’s a Dole Whip Copycat Recipe to Try While the Parks are Closed

Some of us are a couple of weeks into social distancing orders. Stores and restaurants are limiting operations, and some beloved go-to activities are shut down completely. This includes Disneyland (and World), which means we’re all missing our favorite park snacks a little extra right now. Thankfully, there are good people out there who have found ways to replicate some park staples including: fluffy homemade Mickey beignets, can’t-tell-the-difference churro toffee, and a Dole Whip copycat!

If you happen to find yourself missing the theme parks as much as my family, try making your own park treats at home! Starting with this delightful and super easy Dole Whip copycat recipe!

    What you’ll need:

    4 Cups of frozen pineapple

    1 Cup of coconut cream

THAT’S IT. TWO ingredients are standing between you and pretending you’re enjoying the show in the Enchanted Tiki Room. That’s the kind of positive reminiscing we need these days.

    What to do:

    1. Place a can of coconut milk in the fridge overnight. This allows the cream to get cold as it rises to the top, separating from coconut water. This also ensures your Dole Whip copycat is creamy and delicious.
    2. Open your can and scoop out 1 Cup of the coconut cream, and place it in a blender.
    3. Add your frozen pineapple to the blender.
    4. BLEND BLEND BLEND!

You may need to scrape down the sides a couple of times to ensure all pineapple bits are incorporated. But you’ll find it’s well worth the (minimal) effort once you taste that creamy pineapple goodness!

You can also add some honey to the mixture if you like it a little sweeter!

Layer the mixture with some pineapple juice for a homemade Dole Whip copycat float!

Dole Whip originated at the refreshment stand outside Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room in the Adventureland, Disneyland, in 1986. It has since become a park-goer favorite. There are six additional flavors available at various Disney parks including mango, lemon, orange, raspberry, strawberry, and lime. The snack has even inspired clothes and accessories designs!

Tell us your favorite Disney parks treat in the comments!
