Nasa is Now Accepting Job Applications for Astronauts!

Ever dreamed about going to space? Exploring the unknown into the final frontier? Well have I got some good news for you. Because NASA is hiring astronauts for the first time in four years! If you’re feeling lucky enough you’ll have until the end of march to apply.

“America is closer than any other time in history since the Apollo program to returning astronauts to the Moon,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a news release. “We will send the first woman and next man to the lunar South Pole by 2024, and we need more astronauts to follow suit on the moon, and then Mars.”

In order to apply you’ll need to have a few things. The first being you’ll need to be a U.S. citizen, with a masters degree in STEM or something similar in that field of study. The other two years of work in your doctorate field, a medical doctorate. Or a combination of completed test pilot school programs that need to be finished by June 2021, with a STEM degree. And of course like any job you’ll need real world experience two years being required, or 1,000 fight hours logged as the pilot in command. After that you’ll need to do a physical test too.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, you can apply on the USAjobs website from now until March 31.

Even though the requirements to get to space may be a little harder than we may have thought, that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. If you’re able to jump through all of these hurdles you’ll be apart of a small group of people who’ve been to space and back. So good luck out there you future astronaut.
