There are good pet owners and there are great pet owners. And James Gunn fits into the latter category. While filming Suicide Squad he had to take a few days to halt production and make the trip back home to see his furry friend Wesley Von Spears across the rainbow bridge.

He shut down the production in Panama while he flew home to be with his best friend. Though heartbroken he says that Wesley(the dog) had an amazing life and made his more complete. He was a rescue that he had found roaming the streets in Carson City, California. He would then spend the next 17 years caring for him.

He says that if you would like to you could make a donation to Spay Panama in honor of Wesley.
