Japanese Company Makes Wearable Repicas of Your Pet’s Head

Do you love your cat or dog? Like a lot? Have you ever thought to yourself, “Gee I wish I was this cat who gets to sleep all day and do nothing”? Well now this Japanese company can get you one step closer to your dream of becoming your pet.

In Japan February 22nd is Cat’s Day. And what better way to celebrate your cat then to wear their face? That sounds a little Hannibal Lector-esque but who are we to judge.

The masks are made by the creative planning office Shindo Rinka and modeling workshop 91. All you have to do to get one made is fill out your information on a website. The minimum price is 300,000 yen or around $3k in USD. The cat mask on the website and featured in the video above was about 350,000 yen. Unfortunately if you want a dog it’s going to cost about 100,000 yen more because the hair is so difficult to get right.

It’s a pretty expensive gag gift if you want to get one for a friend, but the reality of it is it can be used as a furry head. I’m not sure what the prices are on those but I know they can go for thousands of dollars depending on where you get one. Don’t ask me how I know, I just do ok? When your kid wants to be Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog and you have to look up how to make a detachable tail, you stumble across things.
