Stick to Your Fitness Resolution with a Virtual Run!

2020 is coming in hot and it’s time to get those new year resolutions sorted out. One of the most popular resolutions is to exercise more, whether it be to lose weight or just get healthier in general. Motivate yourself to get your body moving with virtual run events!

Virtual run events are totally self paced and self monitored. This makes them the perfect non-threatening way to get your fitness goals up and running — pun intended!

To participate in a virtual run all you have to do is find one that interests you, sign up, and pay the race fee. Most races can be completed in 1 mile, 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances. Once you’ve signed up, you can start completing your run right away. You can submit your race results (your distance, the time it took, where you completed, etc.) in their Facebook group and through a form on their website. And if you’re looking to really set yourself up for success here’s a list of protein powders for runners.

The major motivator for a virtual run? The awesome medal you get at the end of it! There are themed runs including Stranger Things, Harry Potter, Avengers, various holidays, and more! Different organizations have different themes, so there are a lot of options!

A lot of virtual run events are done for charity, too. So you’re helping yourself and helping others! Double whammy and getting a good start to a new year. New year, new you, am I right?!

You can find virtual runs at Medal Chasers, Virtual Pace Series, and runDisney, to name a few.

Some of these medals are super cool and totally worth getting up off the couch for! Now, you get the medal whether or not you complete the run, but would you feel good about it you didn’t really earn it?!

Is working on your fitness one of your resolutions?? Let us know in the comments!
