When Justice League came out it seemed that there were quite a few mixed reviews. A lot of people thought it was a real stinker and some thought it was Ok. Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa went on to do very successful solo movies as Wonder Woman and Aquaman. Ben Affleck was completely replaced. And everything surrounding Superman is just.. kind of non existent. But that doesn’t mean that Henry Cavill has given up hope on once again portraying the Kryptonian hero. In an interview with Men’s Health he stated that he still wants to play Superman.
“The cape is in the closet. It’s still mine. “I’m not just going to sit quietly in the dark as all this stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”
Cavill to Men’s Health
Ezra Miller is still trying to get a Flash movie off the ground and now it would appear that Cavill has joined him in pushing the studios to do a stand alone Superman movie. After BVS it would be a little difficult to reason with keeping him, especially since Ben Affleck has departed seemingly due to that movie. But if he is still willing to play the role we should give him a chance at least.
