Last August, Dr. Who fans were excited to hear that Matt Smith would have a role in Star Wars Episode IX. Now it appears that is not to be.
When asked about appearing in the movie during a recent interview with Emily Zemler from the LA Times, while he was on break from filming Morbius the Living Vampire, the star is quoted as saying “As far as I can tell, I’m definitely not.”
Is this just misdirection and studio secret keeping? It’s hard to tell, although his appearance was never officially confirmed by Lucasfilm.
