    First Look: Sonic the Hedgehog

The style guide – basically an art guide for drawing a character in various poses with colors, views, etc. – was leaked for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie. The images first showed up here, so are probably valid: Hamagami / Carroll, Inc. Sega’s mascot has evolved a lot since 1991, but now he’s in the flesh… uh, CGI for the first time on the big screen.

The alleged style guide leaks don’t show much of a surprise, but they do allude to one issue everyone who loves Sonic was complaining about: His eyes. It looks like they went for a more single-eye-looking-design like the classic video games. Though, none of this explains the, uh, plot up on IMDB: A cop helps Sonic escape the government?

Maybe I haven’t played a Sonic game in a few years, but was this EVER the plot?! I guess it’s better than the furry fetish version. Or pregnant Sonic.

Look for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie running your way on November 8, 2019.
