Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Yesterday, word came down that a third Patty Jenkins written/directed, Gal Gadot-starring third “Wonder Woman” film was unlikely. James Gunn, co-CEO of Warner Bros. Pictures newly launched DC Studios, has addressed this news, as well as the future of the DCEU as we know it. The following is Gunn’s multiple tweets, put together in one lump statement: “So. As for the story yesterday in the Hollywood Reporter, some of it is true, some of it is half-true, some of it is not true, & some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not. Although this first month…

This just in-Mike Flanagan is adapting yet another classic Stephen King work. Like most King titles, this one has already had a film (2017), and an unaired pilot for a series (2020). We’re speaking of course about “The Dark Tower.”According to Flanagan himself, he and his producing partners acquired the rights to “The Dark Tower” before signing their massive deal with Amazon.“Predating our deal with Amazon, we acquired the rights to ‘The Dark Tower,’ which if you know anything about me, you know it has been my Holy Grail of a project for most of my life,” Flanagan said. “We actually…

We’re sorry to say, but it seems like the 3rd Patty Jenkins-helmed “Wonder Woman” film will NOT happen. This story comes from multiple sources, one of which being The Hollywood Reporter. Apparently a treatment for “Wonder Woman 3” was submitted by Jenkins (co-written by Geoff Johns). THR says their sources indicate co-CEOs of DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Safran, along with WB brass Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy thought the project “did not fit in with the new (but still unfolding) plans.”This could be due to several reasons; chief among them likely the poor reception to “Wonder Woman…

Today marks a special day for fans of James Cameron’s “Avatar” films. The long awaited sequel (of a planned 5-film series) is having it’s world premiere in London. This means first reactions will be coming later today/tonight, but it also means the press was able to ask some pointed questions to cast and crew. Like whomever decided to ask producer Jon Landau about other films he may be working on. “Well uh, there’s a little film called ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ that we’d love to circle back and do a sequel to. And uh, we’re talking to Robert [Rodriquez] about that,…

Despite being a highly divisive series among fans, Disney+’s “Star Wars” series “Andor” is garnering some hefty critical praise. The Critics Choice Awards have announced their list of nominations for the best in television (traditional and streaming, although streaming sure seems to dominate) this morning. “Andor” nabbed two pretty big nominations. Diego Luna has been nominated for Best Actor in a Drama series, as well as “Andor” getting the nod for Best Drama series. The rest of the list is pretty expected; “Better Call Saul” across drama categories, “The Bear” and “Barry” honored in the comedy categories, but some good…
