Author: Mary Anne Butler

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

Neil deGrasse Tyson is a national treasure. Okay, also an inter galactic treasure, author, and all around stellar personality. Anytime he stops by “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” it’s a delight to watch. But especially when the pair try to out geek each other about popular movies. Turns out, they were both at the US premiere of “Dune: Part Two,” which took place in New York City. Using this as a starting point, Stephen Colbert stated “I thought it was perfect. What do you think, Neil? There are no errors.””There’s a couple of issues,” deGrasse Tyson starts. “Theres these…

Okay. This is one of those stories that seems to be from another era. Yes, we are glad to see actress Lindsay Lohan making a comeback after some trying times. No, this isn’t how we were expecting her current filmography to go. The “Freaky Friday” star has recently headed two films for Netflix, and even had a cameo in the recent movie musical version of “Mean Girls.” But THIS? This is kinda big. US Weekly recently ran a story detailing several ‘sources’ close to Lohan, with various tidbits of news. Perhaps the biggest and most surprising among those is mention…

We have some bad news for fans of MAX’s very queer piratical series, “Our Flag Means Death.” It’s sad news, and our crew is pretty heartbroken. The series, which starred Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi as real-life pirates Edward Teach aka Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet aka The Gentleman Pirate, recently ended it’s run. Many fans were hopeful the show would find a new home following MAX’s decision *cough* David Zaslav *cough* to cancel it. Hope for that, however, seems to be unfairly squashed. Creator David Jenkins posted an update to his personal Instagram account, and it’s not what we were…
