Earlier this month, Walt Disney Pictures released their live-action adaptation of animated film “Mulan” on their official streaming service, Disney+. It’s been a long, expensive road for this Niki Caro-directed remake, and audiences are….divided.Touted as a “closer to the legend” take on the story of Hua Mulan, this version doesn’t have a wise-cracking dragon, nor any songs. What it DOES have is a pretty great cast, including Jet Li as the Emperor, and a super awesome surprise cameo at the end of the film.If you don’t want spoilers, PLEASE click away now. Seriously. If you’re still reading, we’re going to…
Jelly Belly creator David Klein thinks he’s turned into Willy Wonka. We say this because Klein announced earlier this week a massive “gold ticket” hunt across the country. It’s not just any hunt, either- there will be prizes, cash rewards, and even a freaking candy factory for one lucky winner. BUT…you have to pay for it. Before you get too excited, you have to know that in order to participate, you’ll have to fork over an entry fee of about $50 to receive a riddle (you’ll need to solve in order to receive the clue) in your state. Each treasure…

We’re sad to report the cancellation of long-running animated comedy adventure series “The Venture Bros.” by Adult Swim. Series creator Jackson Publick confirmed the news on Twitter. “Unfortunately, it’s true: #VentureBros has been canceled. We got the highly disappointing news a few months ago, while we were writing what would have been season 8. We thank you, our amazing fans, for 17 years of your kind (and patient) attention. And, as always, We Love You.”
We’ll admit it- “Jurassic Park” is still one of those franchises that’ll get our dollars when a new title comes out. Yes, we’re still a little burned out from the most recent two installments- “Jurassic World” and “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”- but we’re more willing to give them a chance with the next entry, “Jurassic World: Dominion.”Considering the return of the saga’s most notable personalities like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum- we’re downright hopeful again. Colin Trevorrow, who wrote the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story by Trevorrow and his writing partner, Derek Connolly, is directing. This brings us to…
Low and behold, Tom Cruise still thinks he’s absolutely invincible, as the latest video for an insane “Mission: Impossible 7” stunt shows. Just yesterday, director Christopher McQuarrie shared the first image from the 7th installment of the franchise, and it left us all wondering what the hell the stunt would be that used such a large ramp. This morning, a video was shared showing the stunt in question, and yes, that IS Tom Cruise on the motorcycle. We cannot get over how freaking crazy that looks. Kudos to Cruise, who just celebrated his 58th birthday in July. Holy. Crap. If…
This is another one of those times we’re left scratching our heads, asking “what the absolute heck is this?!?” Someone, somewhere, thought “Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills” was a good idea for a real, honest to goodness tv series as an answer to “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” YUP, this was totally a real show, you guys. Animation studio DIC had a pretty heated rivalry with Saban, which resulted in a few Power Ranger knockoff attempts, like “Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters,” and “Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad.” And, some enterprising person added the entire first episode to Youtube, which you can…
Take this however you will, but it would seem that Ridley Scott, visonary director of such seminal pieces of film as “Blade Runner,” “Gladiator,” and that 1984 Apple Mac commercial is still hell-bent on bringing another chapter in the “Alien” universe. Let’s take a moment to reflect on “Prometheus,” and “Alien: Covenant.” Good concepts on paper, kinda, but fan reception firmly place both films somewhere in the vein of “what the hell were you thinking, Ridley?” Add into those the disastrous “Exodus” film…we’re sort of leery of Scott in the director’s chair for a film again. And of course, “The Martian,”…
