Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.

ITS A HALLOWEEN MIRACLE. Clive Barker, one of the great Masters of Horror, is returning to one of our favorite dark, demonic characters- Hellraiser. Barker is reportedly joining the executive producing team for HBO’s upcoming “Hellraiser” tv series, with “Halloween” reboot helmer David Gordon Green directing. The series will be written by written by Mark Verheiden (“Battlestar Galactica”) and Michael Dougherty (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters”).It will NOT be a reboot or a reimagining, but rather a “continuation” of the existing Pinhead and Cenobite lore. Clive Barker reportedly said he was “delighted the Hellraiser mythology is seeing a new life. It’s time…

This is one of those times we are very saddened to share the news- the passing of a true legendary presence in film, Sir Sean Connery. Probably best known for his part as the original 007 James Bond in the first several films based on the novels of Sir Ian Fleming, Connery was (and always will be) an icon. The statuesque actor had been suffering from a closely-guarded illness for some time, retreating to a more private life out of the public eye some years ago. Connery recently celebrated a HUGE milestone for anyone- his 90th birthday. Long time Bond…

During an earnings call with Hasbro earlier this week, CEO of Hasbro Brian Goldner confirmed that the company is very much committed to seeing a live-action television series based on Dungeons & Dragons! “[The team is] also working on a couple of different approaches, because there is so much mythology in Canon to – Dungeons & Dragons for live action television. We need a minute to process the fact that Danny Elfman just released his very first solo single in 36 years (that obviously isn’t part of a score or soundtrack). Check out the official video release for “Happy” here. Something strange to keep in mind also is that yesterday, October 28th, marked the 35th anniversary of Oingo Boingo (which Elfman was lead vocalist for) releasing perhaps their most memorable album- “Dead Man’s Party.” Elfman released a statement to Variety to accompany the video release: “Halloween has always been my Big Night. As a child there was no competition. Coincidently, in…

We have a lot of thoughts about the upcoming David Bowie biopic “Stardust,” and we’re really not sure how to word them. First and foremost, this is an unauthorized biopic, one that David Jones’ (Bowie’s real name) family have gone on record saying they do not approve of. It’s unclear why, but the first full-length trailer for the film just released this week. Starring Johnny Flynn as a rather plastic-rendering of Bowie during his Hunky Dory phase and first trip to the USA which inspired his iconic Ziggy Stardust persona, “Stardust” was directed by Gabriel Range, and also stars Jena…

We are so pleased to report the news that yet another of our favorite animated series from the 90s is getting new life, thanks to HBO Max. “Tiny Toon Adventures” was ahead of its time in terms of story telling and introducing younger audiences to the ideas of satire and parodies in easily accessible cartoon-format. Sure, that’s not to say that other series didn’t do it first- but this was something special.HBO Max has apparently ordered an in-universe continuation story (not sure if reboot or what) called “Tiny Toons Looniversity.” Yes, Buster and Babs are back. Babs, Buster Bunny and…
