Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are teaming up to bring Steven Spielberg’s beloved films “Jaws” and “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” to IMAX screens for the first time ever! The trailer for the new IMAX release of “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” will premiere exclusively with showings of “Jurassic World Dominion” on June 10th. This is almost 40 years to the day after its original June 11th, 1982 theatrical opening. The International Skating Union (ISU) has voted to slowly raise the minimum competition age for the senior figure skater devision from 15 to 17. This decision was voted on during the 2022 ISU Congress in Phuket, Thailand. In the upcoming 2023-2024 season, the minimum age for skaters will go up to 16. It will then go to 17 for the 2024-25 season. The 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy will require all competitors be at least 17. Modern horror masters Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are adapting Christopher Pike’s young adult novel “The Midnight Club” for Netflix. This project was officially announced during Geeked Week Day 1. Pike’s book centers around Rotterham Home, which is a hospice for young people. Every night at midnight, a group of 5 residents called the Midnight Club come together to take turns telling stories. How about this teaser for Guillermo del Toro’s “Cabinet Of Curiosities!?” The 8 episode series will be produced by del Toro, alongside Jeff J.J. Authors, J. Miles Dale, and Gary Ungar. The plot is described as a live-action anthology horror series that is meant to challenge our traditional notions of horror. Topics will range from macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque.
