We are chuffed to present the first official look at Danny Boyle‘s upcoming limited FX series “Pistol” about the meteoric rise of the iconic punk band the Sex Pistols. The six-episode series is based Pistols’ guitarist Steve Jones‘ 2017 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales From a Sex Pistol.
Expect to see Vivienne Westwood‘s Sex boutique, and other notable punk landmarks.

Boyle had this to say about “Pistol“:
“Imagine breaking into the world of The Crown and Downton Abbey with your mates and screaming your songs and your fury at all they represent,” Boyle previously said in a statement. “This is the moment that British society and culture changed forever. It is the detonation point for British street culture…where ordinary young people had the stage and vented their fury and their fashion…and everyone had to watch and listen…and everyone feared them or followed them. The Sex Pistols. At its center was a young charming illiterate kleptomaniac — a hero for the times — Steve Jones, who became in his own words, the 94th greatest guitarist of all time. This is how he got there.”
Toby Wallace (“Babyteeth“) will play Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, Anson Boon (“1917“) will play John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon. Louis Partridge (“Enola Holmes“) will play bassist Sid Vicious, Jacob Slater will play drummer Paul Cook, and Fabien Frankel (“The Serpent“) as original bassist Glen Matlock.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster (“The Queen’s Gambit“) as Malcolm McLaren, Talulah Riley (“Westworld“) as Vivienne Westwood, Dylan Llewellyn (“Derry Girls“) as Jones’ early bandmate Wally Nightingale, Sydney Chandler (“Don’t Worry Darling“) as a pre-Pretenders Chrissie Hynde, Emma Appleton (“The Witcher“) as Vicious’ girlfriend Nancy Spungeng, and Maisie Williams as Pamela Rooke, aka Jordan.
Boyle is directing, as well as executive producing. Craig Pearce serves as co-writer along with Boyle.
We’ll let you know when we hear about a possible release date for “Pistol.”
