The Prodigy Documentary in the Works from Pulse Films

When The Prodigy broke onto the music scene in 1990, England didn’t know what hit it. Formed by keyboardist and DJ Liam Howlett, soon to be joined by dancer Keith Flint, fellow musician Leeroy Thornhill, and vocalist Maxim, the Essex group would go on to virtually define dance music of the 90’s.

The time has come to tell the story of The Prodigy. Under the wing of Pulse Films, the feature-length documentary tentatively titled “The Prodigy’“will be produced by bandmates Howlett and Maxim, and directed by Grammy nominee Paul Dugdale.

The film will explore the birth of the legendary band, the pioneering effect they had on the British music scene, and eventual rise to global notoriety; explored through archival footage, fan testimony, and even animation.

Howlett and Maxim dedicate the project to their long time friend and bandmate, Keith Flint, whose signature spiked hairstyle and manic vocals for international hit “Firestarter” contributed to making the band a sweeping phenomenon.

With the tragic suicide of Flint in March 2019, the British music scene lost one of its true pioneers. A punk who couldn’t be tied down, who never compromised. Beloved by his fans and treasured by his friends, Keith was the beating heart of The Prodigy, and his friends are eager to tell their story.
