Ah the Sims, where you can play out the ultimate fantasy. Like owning a home, having an amazing job, or you know you’ll be financially stable. Or if you are like the thousands that play, you go for the challenges. Such has the 100 baby challenge, the Not So Berry Challenge, or the Black Widow Challenge. I personally love these challenges, and I love the fun ways the fans try to keep the game fun.
But word has it that EA is working on something in the shadows, and it’s not just another expansion pack. (GIVE US SPIRAL STAIRCASES!!) The CEO of Maxis Andrew Wilson has said that the team is working on something that ties in to the next generation of gaming.
“As Maxis continues to think about The Sims for a new generation – cross-platforms and a cloud of a neighborhood world, you should imagine while we will always stay true to our inspiration, escape, creation, self-improvement, motivations – that this notion of social interactions and competition like the kind of things that were actually present in The Sims Online many many years ago – that they will start to become a part of The Sims experience in the years to come,” he said [via SimsCommunity].
Cross platforms you say? Neighborhood world? Me thinks this could tie in to the possibility of Sims5. Hey maybe an open world within maps! Because at the moment, it’s very annoying to have a neighbor in the Sims4 to visit and you gotta wait for loading time. Cross worlds I understand, next door not so much. But these are just my opinions.
“We are very excited. This is a game that really doesn’t have any competition in its category for delivering and fulfilling these motivations for players and we think of the tremendous growth opportunities for us for many, many years to come.”
Well, whatever you are planning I am excited for it! Bring back multiplayer as well! That was fun!
