Jane Could Have Cancer in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ If They Base It Off Comics

Ever since the first run of Thor 2014 the world was introduced to Jane Foster as Thor. I grabbed the first printing of each one (Thanks Pop Comics!) I fell in love with each issue and I can say with pride that I have the first print off this run. Earlier this year I literally cried with joy to hear that Natalie Portman would return to the MCU not only reprising her role as Jane Foster but something even better, she’ll be coming in as Thor!

So many questions are left unanswered about what Thor: Love and Thunder will bring. Because in the comics Thor (now known as Odinson) loses the Mjolnir when Nick Fury whispers something to Odinson during the Original Sin an eight issue series. That one whisper caused him to be unworthy. Thus paving the way for Jane Foster.

But the fact that Jane has cancer and the weight of being Thor is literally killing her. I’ll leave the rest for you to read. Trust me it’s a great run with an arm being cut off and Malekith who’s my favorite.

At Tokyo comic Con Chris Hemsworth was being asked questions about the next movie. And he has said that he hasn’t seen a script yet!

“I haven’t seen the script yet. I know they’re working very hard on it and pretty excited to bring you something pretty fresh and new again. But having left Endgame, where Thor was, we have a lot of room to move there and drastically change again, which is very, very exciting. But we start shooting that sort of mid-next year.”

Even though we don’t know any details we do know the movie will start shooting  in 2020 and that the director has stated that he doesn’t know if he’ll have Jane with or without cancer. No matter how the movie goes, I for one will be ready and happy when it finally does hit. Because I have been waiting for this for a long time.

Thor” Love and Thunder is set to release November 5, 2021
