What Auditors Actually Ask For

Broker and state Medicaid audits tend to focus on the same handful of things, trip after trip:

Proof the trip happened as billed. GPS-stamped pickup and drop-off times, matched against the scheduled appointment window. If a claim says a passenger was picked up at 9:00 and dropped off at 9:40, an auditor wants to see that the vehicle’s actual location data backs that up.

Signature and consent records. A digital signature captured at the point of service, tied to the specific trip, not a generic on-file signature from months earlier.

Driver and vehicle credentials. Current licenses, background checks, and vehicle inspection records, each tied to the date of the trip in question — not just a folder of documents that may or may not have been current when the trip actually happened.
