“Have you tried yoga?” takes on an all-new blood-soaked meaning in Namaslay. The upcoming horror satire is co-written and co-directed by Kanish Arhant-Sudhir and Rish Arhant-Sudhir. The project lampoons the commercialization and appropriation of yoga in the West.

    “Namaslay,” 2026 (Junghal Studios)

Namaslay tells the story of Gayatri after she travels to Los Angeles, where she is invited by her friend Judy to try an upscale yoga studio that she’s been dying to attend. Eventually, the owner,  Reyna, offers Gayatri the chance to join their instructor program. Despite her gut feeling that something is off, she accepts. Before she’s asked to attend a prestigious instructor’s retreat, where she discovers the ulterior nature of her invitation

Kirunthuja Srikanth-Talim, Angela Sant’Albano, Alicia Mitchell-Mangual, Usha Krishnan, and Christina Moore all star.

The upcoming movie is described as a Masala film, a genre that first became popular in the 1970s. Its defined by blending several unlikely styles together. Considering its a film about the West bastardizing ancient practices, something genre-blending seems rather fitting.

Junghal Studios, which is founded by the Arhant-Sudhirs, is backing the project for the company’s first feature release.

Namaslay will hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles on August 6th. Before receiving a nationwide release on August 13th. You can check out the teaser trailer below:
