A decade after dropping the oceanic fish-infested deluge known as Sharknado, director Anthony C. Ferrante is ready to swim back into the blue with his latest assault on our screens: Water Park Shark.

With Lead Actors David Chokachi and Chelsea Gilson in the lead roles, the film will take the floor at Shark Con in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Premiering before a captive audience of shark movie lovers.

The plot involves a Cape Cod water park being raided by Great White Sharks. A washed-up football player turned lifeguard, and his ex-girlfriend (who is also a Police Chief) must discover why the apex predators are being lured there before it is too late. While the plot treads familiar Sharknado territory, it stands as an example of Al Kratina’s creative flair. Kratina will be handling the script for the upcoming film.

The supporting cast includes Matthew Dame, Kacie Patricia, Michael Shaun Sandy, Snow Feng, Hector Becerra, Brigdon York, Rob Eubanks, Camilla Bastos, and Giovanna McMaster. On paper, it is a solid lineup for a movie of this genre. Production company Narrative Pictures is backing Water Park Shark.

Director Ferrante hasn’t left the shark genre since Sharknado debuted in 2013. He recently released Great White Waters on Tubi over the Fourth of July. After all, the premise of people in the water with predators remains a staple of the genre.

The original Sharknado became an instant cult classic and spawned five sequels. Ferrante’s status as an authority in the genre remains firm, and Water Park Shark is ready to feed that longstanding appetite.

No wide release date has been confirmed beyond the Shark Con premiere. This debut, however, bridges the film to the exact demographic most likely to support the project. With a summer window targeted at its niche audience, Water Park Shark has a real shot.
