Film Bridge International has acquired the rights to the upcoming horror film The Influencer Project at the Cannes Film Market. It’s produced by Blair Witch Project co-creator Eduardo Sanchez with producer Gregg Hale and stars Chiara King.

2026 (Film Bridge International)
King is a UK-based beauty and fashion influencer with over 1 million followers on Instagram and 4.2 million on TikTok. While plot details are scarce at this time, The Influencer Project will be based on King’s real-life experience with a stalker. A terrifyingly personal way for anyone to make their film debut.
This is also marking Sanchez’s return to the found footage genre he undoubtedly helped popularize. “Thirty years ago, fear was a supernatural force in the woods. Today, it’s with you constantly, in social media—the possibility of opening up your life to strangers who wish you harm. What could be more terrifying?” Sanchez and Hale said in a statement.
Through a deal with Variance, the film will hit US theaters sometime in September, leveraging King’s popularity. A la, Markiplier’s Iron Lung theatrical campaign earlier this year. However, it’s not like getting a theatrical release for a movie made outside the studio system is new territory for Sanchez or Hale either.
The Influencer Project is directed and produced by Mike Nybroe. It is co-produced by Hades Films and Denmark’s Point Neuf, alongside Sanchez, Hale, Alex Hertzberg, and Ahmet Zappa.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about this project as they become available.
