Seth Rogen Dedicates The Studio BAFTA Win to Catherine O’Hara

Seth Rogen brought one of the more emotional moments of the 2026 BAFTA TV Awards on Sunday. Taking to the stage, he collected the award for Best International Series. His hit satire is titled The Studio. He said it would be “remiss” not to mention his co-star. His beloved late co-star Catherine O’Hara who passed away in January. She was 71.

“It would be remiss of me not to mention Catherine O’Hara, she meant so much to us,” he told the London crowd. “I assume her work was as important to y’all over here as it was to us, so this is for Catherine.”

Before the tribute, Rogen admitted it was genuinely a surprise to win.

“I really didn’t expect that to happen at all,”

“And when you make a comedy, and you’re up against dramas, especially, it feels really good to beat them. I have to say, it doesn’t happen that often. It’s a rare, rarefied thing.”

Catherine O’Hara’s part in The Studio

O’Hara played producer Patty Leigh. She added a hilarious, emotional turn that was extremely well received. She was also known for her work in Beetlejuice, Home Alone, A Mighty Wind, and Schitt’s Creek.

O’Hara was not included in the TV Awards’ “In Memory” segment on Sunday. She was already a feature in the memorial tribute at the BAFTA film awards in February for her film work. Rogen made sure her name was given a mention at this event.

It was not the first time Rogen had offered a tribute to O’Hara on stage.

At the Actor Awards in March, she posthumously won the female actor in a comedy series honor for her work playing Patty Leigh.

“I’ve been given the sad honour of accepting this award on O’Hara’s behalf. I know she would have been honoured to receive this award from her fellow performers, whom I know she respected so much. She was such a big fan of all of yours.”

Rogen said as he accepted the award on her behalf

The night was not without its lighter moments either. Rogen had the audience laughing after pointing to Celebrity Traitors contestant Celia Imrie and joking, “I assume this woman in a green dress is a very talented woman. All I know is that she farted on a reality show.”

The Studio beat fellow Apple TV+ shows Severance and Pluribus to the BAFTA. This win marks Apple TV+’s first victory in the BAFTA Television International category. It makes The Studio the first comedy to claim the prize in a decade.

With the BAFTA win, The Studio officially became the first comedy in history to sweep all major awards in a single season. Its broader haul includes Golden Globe wins for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy for Rogen. It also secured Critics Choice wins for comedy series and Best Actor for Rogen. The show had a clean sweep at the Actor Awards. This included Outstanding Ensemble and a posthumous outstanding female actor win for Catherine O’Hara.
