Montreal “Just For Laughs” Comedy Fest Lands Weird Al, Seinfeld

If there’s one thing the world needs now more than ever, it’s something to make people laugh and feel happy. The Montreal-based Just For Laughs (Juste pour rire) festival has been doing just that for over 40 years. You can look up events from its long and storied history on YouTube to get a taste of what to expect.

You also may stumble upon two performers from back in the day who are headlining the events of 2026.

Jerry Seinfeld, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” NBC Universal, Andrew Lipovsky

    Just For Laughs

The two big draws coming to Montreal this year need no introduction. The first is Jerry Seinfeld. The former sitcom star and current comedian was at Just For Laughs back in 1985. This was before Seinfeld was a series and while Jerry was still doing the standup circuit. Often imitated for his delivery and observational humor, it’s easy to forget that Seinfeld was a huge force in stand-up comedy in the ’80s and early ’90s. He’ll be performing his “Jerry Seinfeld Live” solo show.

The other and arguably bigger name is “Weird” Al Yankovic. Al played Just For Laughs back in 1990. The parody artist hasn’t released an album of new material since 2014’s Mandatory Fun. Despite this, he continues to tour and draw numbers. “Weird” Al is a beloved cultural icon. It’s a huge grab for Just For Laughs to have him performing.

Other comedians will be there as well, obviously. Gabriel Iglesias and Atsuko Okatsuka will also be appearing, amongst others. More details are going to be announced in the upcoming weeks. Seinfeld will be performing on July 23rd. “Weird” Al will be performing on July 25th. We’ll keep you posted on updates about the event as they develop.
