It’s really no surprise to fans of “KPop Demon Hunters” that the film has now won MORE awards. This time the VES awards granted them 3 more. VES are the premier international awards honoring outstanding visual effects artistry and innovation in film, television, commercials, video games, and special venues. As the only organization recognizing the full spectrum of VFX, they celebrate the talent of artists, producers, and supervisors. So knowing this we’re really excited that KPop won some. Especially since SONY undervalued the project initially.
Netflix and Sony Animation’s “KPop Demon Hunters” took home three awards. One for Outstanding Animation for the Character (Rumi). Another for Effect Simulations in an Animated Feature. And the third prize was Outstanding Animation in an Animated Feature. All wonderful awards that the sweeping sensation “KPop Demon Hunters” deserved to win.
This film has now become an international sensation. Changing the way we see and experience animation, the film has launched millions of worldwide fans. A second movie has been announced to be released in 2029/2030. The soundtrack separately has been listened over 11 Billion times, and the movie itself has been streamed about 482 million times. Of course these are the states on Deadline which have probably increased since they first reported them. I know my kids have watched it twice this morning.
