The Morning Ritual Pink Salt Bricks You Didn’t Know You Needed

We are fixated on our morning rituals. In terms of the ice baths and the journaling, the green smoothies and the apps that improve meditation, the search for the perfect beginning of the day is endless. We want energy. We want clarity. We need to be in a state of settled existence before the terror of getting to work or the initial Zoom meeting begins to take off.

    Enter the pink salt bricks.

Himalayan pink salt may be your fancy spice in your pantry cabinet or may be a luminous lamp on the desk of your coworker. However the most recent wellness trend repurposes this ancient mineral and uses it as a practice to apply grounding and a tactile morning. It is not about eating, nor is it merely about looking at it. It is about getting down and touching it in order to establish a relaxed, de-stressful mood of what is to come.

It is not another one-day TikTok trend. Halotherapy is centuries old as a wellness treatment by using salt. Having a slab of plain pure mineral-enriched salt in your morning ritual is a special means of getting back to earth, both literally and metaphorically. That is why humans are selling their scrolling time on pink salt bricks and this is the way you can make this movement a part of your morning routine.

So What Are Pink Salt Bricks?

Whilst we immerse ourselves in the ritual, it is best to first define what we are talking about. Himalayan salt A solid slab of Himalayan salt is referred to as a pink salt brick (or salt tile). These are deposited in the Punjab in Pakistan, adjoining the foothills of the Himalayas. The salt beds present there were creations of millions of years ago when the ancient sea evaporated leaving behind huge deposits of minerals.

The pink color is attributed to some trace minerals such as magnesium, potassium, and calcium. As compared to highly processed table salt, Himalayan salt is usually left natural and unprocessed. They can be sliced into pink salt bricks or salt tiles to be used as versatile tools of wellness. They may be heated, cooled or even left at salt room temperature.

Portable wellness tools Individual pink salt bricks have been used at home though in construction of salt, or in sauna or spa using them in salt walls. They are too heavy, too dense and cool to touch, which is a quality that makes them outstanding in grounding exercises.

Science (and Spirit) of the Salt.

Why should you rub your feet or your hands on a block of salt at 7:00 AM? The attraction is a combination of alleged physical advantages and psychological grounding procedures.

The Negative Ions and Air Quality.

Among the most mentioned positive effects of Himalayan salt, the release of negative ions is also mentioned. The hypothesis is that positive ions (the result of using electronic devices (phones, laptops, TVs)) dominate our modern environments, which may cause fatigue and stress. Salt is unlocking, and as such, it grabs water particles in the air. These molecules evaporated off the surface of the salt can form negative ions. Originally, the whole atmosphere of your home will not be changed at once by a gigantic salt cave as it was, but still, according to its supporters, even simple communication will help one defy the electric smog surrounding them.

    Detoxification Via Apprenticeship.

The largest part of our body is our skin and our skin works very hard to get rid of toxins. The action of osmosis may be initiated when you put your warm feet or hands on pink salt bricks. It is believed that the salt assists to pull out the impurities in the body and other forms of toxins, at the same time enabling absorption of trace minerals. This resembles an idea of an Epsom salt bath, but concentrated on particular contact points.

    Thermal Therapy

Salt is an excellent conductor of heat. It is possible to warm the salt block using the oven (but cautiously, at low temperatures) or to cool it using the fridge. Applying warm pink salt bricks to your soles may help in improving the circulation and alleviating sore muscles whereas using a cold brick can help in reducing inflammation hence increasing awareness.

The morning salt ritual: how to do the Salt Ritual.

It does not take any additional hour to incorporate pink salt bricks in your morning. It may be a bare and basic 5-10 minutes routine that substitutes doom-scrolling or just looking at the coffee machine.

The Detox foot method (Warming Method).

It is, perhaps, perhaps the most commonly used method of using pink salt bricks.

The Method: Put your pink salt bricks (you will need two of them here (or one big slab will work) in the oven in the lowest setting or a warming rack about 10-15 minutes. You want them warm, not hot.

Jot down in a relaxed chair and read your morning tea or water.

Put your naked feet on top of the hot pink salt bricks.

Close your eyes and give attention to the feeling of the warmth shooting along your legs.

    The Benefit

This resembles the experience of walking over hot sand. It pulls the energy into the ground, and makes you feel grounded and settled. The warmth will stimulate the circulation to the extremities, warming the body up gradually. It is a superb discipline among people who wake up in an unusual state of mind anxious.

    The Cooling (Cold Shock) Procedure.

When you are the kind of person that requires a shock to get invigorated, then this technique fits you.

    The Method

The pink salt bricks should be left in the refrigerator overnight.

In the morning, even pull it off and put your hands flat on the cold surface, it takes 30 seconds.

Or again place your feet on the cool pink salt bricks.

    The Benefit

Cold therapy eliminates inflammation and constricts skin. The palms or soles contact with the cold is shocking at once. It gives the nervous system an alert without feeling jittery which is caused by caffeine.

    Mindfulness Anchor

It does not even require alteration of the temperature of the pink salt bricks in this case.

    The Method:

Sit in a meditation posture. The heavy pink salt bricks should be held in the lap between both hands.

Pay attention to the feel–to how smooth it is, to how grainy it is, to the weight.

See how the mountain where the salt has been taken is always stable.

    The Benefit

When you are having a to-do list in your head, meditation may prove challenging. The practice can be facilitated by having an actual physical object to focus on. The deep touch stimulation that results when common sense is caused by the sheer pressure of the pink salt bricks (salt is heavy) may be calming to the nervous system.

Caring for Your Pink Salt Bricks

Salt is soluble, and so you must be very careful of retaining. Do not run your pink salt brick in water or wet it.

    Cleaning:

In order to clean your pink salt bricks, then you need to clean it by just wiping a damp cloth. The salt is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial hence no soap or chemical cleaners are required. Indeed, bacteria are not capable of surviving on the surface of pure salt and hence it is incredibly hygienic to be used in everyday life.

    Storage:

Keep your pink salt bricks in a dry place. Assuming that you live in a damp climate and your pink salt bricks might be sweating or being damp. This is normal. Wipe it dry and put it in an airtight bag or container when not in use to avoid the problem of it fading away with time.

Is This Trend Worth the Hype?

The buzzes of wellness do not last forever, but those wellness trends have at least one thing in common: they all make us slack down. The pink salt bricks ritual is not as much about the magical activity of the mineral, which is real with its antimicrobial and thermal effect, and the meaning of the gesture.

In a culture that requires us to be on since opening the first lid of our eyes, spending ten minutes to touch something unprocessed, un technological, and material is a revolutionary measure of self-care. It forces you to stop. It forces you to feel. You may believe or you just love the sensation of warm stone on your weary feet, but either way, the outcome is the same, you start your day calmer and more centred.

In other words, the next time you look at your email in the morning turn to a pink salt bricks the next time you need your phone. The nervous system may simply be grateful to you.
