Daniel Goldhaber (“Cam”) wants you to relive some of that childhood trauma with an upcoming remake of the notorious “Faces of Death.” And this meta remake of the dubious shockumentary just got its first poster.

Unlike its predecessors the upcoming “Faces of Death” isn’t presenting itself as anything but fiction. It stars Barbie Ferreira (“Euphoria”) as a content moderator for a video sharing platform. But things start to take a turn when she begins to find videos seemingly re-enacting the murders seen in 1978’s  “Faces of Death.” It is up to her to determine if this carnage is fact or fiction.

Ferreira stars alongside singer Charli XCX, Dacre Montgomery (“Stranger Things”), Josie Totah (“Saved by the Bell”), Jermaine Fowler (“Sorry to Bother You”), Aaron Holliday (“Cocaine Bear”).

Goldhaber will be directing from a script that he co-wrote with Isa Mazzei (“50 States of Fright”). The project done in partnership with Independent Film Company (IFC) and Shudder.

“Growing up in a video store culture there are vivid memories of being terrified to even touch the original Faces of Death VHS box,” said Mark Ward, RLJE acquisition officer. “That legend haunted a generation, and bringing that fear back to audiences now is both deeply personal and an exciting full-circle moment. We’re in awe of Daniel Goldhaber’s reimagining.”

“Faces of Death” will hit theaters on April 10, 2026. You can check out the teaser trailer and poster below:
