    Top 5 Classic Slot Games

In the iGaming industry today, classic-themed slots remain popular, with many development studios launching new titles in the genre. Despite not featuring the same modern technological implementations as live casino online games, these classic slots still attract players today. The aesthetic of these classic slot titles is unique, replicating the look and feel of traditional slot machine games. Not only do classic-themed games replicate the look of traditional slot machines, but many also feature similar, simple payline counts. Classic slot games are very distinguishable, with many utilising similar symbols on the playgrid. These symbols are drawn from fruit machine games, many of which feature fruit imagery or other classic elements such as Bars, Sevens, Bells, and more.

    Divine Diamonds

Divine Diamonds is one of the most notable classic-themed slots in the history of the online casino industry, which was released by Northern Lights Gaming in 2021. The complete visual design replicates that of a traditional fruit machine, with the play area replicating physical reels. The gameplay of the Divine Diamonds slot takes place on a 5×3 playgrid that contains a payline count of 20.

To elevate the gameplay of the Divine Diamonds title, Northern Lights Gaming has added some bonus features that may be triggered at random. There is a Wild symbol in this slot game, as well as Respins, Instant Cash Prizes, and Free Spins features.

    Sizzling 777 Deluxe

Wazdan is the developer behind the Sizzling 777 Deluxe slot game, which was released in 2018. The classic slots theme is well expressed throughout the gameplay of this slot, with all visuals being similar to the average release in this genre. The slot’s backdrop is very limited, with a red and purple colour palette. The playgrid follows a similar simplistic suit, with a 5×3 layout, containing a payline count of 20, where matching combinations can land.

Wazdan have kept things simplistic in the gameplay of the Sizzling 777 Deluxe slot, with no bonus features available to be triggered. The Sizzling 777 Deluxe slot relies entirely on its base gameplay, where matching combinations can occur if 3 or more identical symbols land in adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost.

    Fire and Roses Joker

Many classic slots in the iGaming industry have been based around fire and Jokers, and in this release, Triple Edge Studios has combined the pair. The Fire and Roses Joker slot was released in 2023, and unlike the average classic slot game, it features mechanics seen in modern releases. One of the modern gameplay mechanics added is 720 paylines, which, in itself, is a larger count than that of average classic slots, but it also works both ways. The classic slot aesthetic is created in the backdrop, with a solid red colour palette, intricate diamond detailing, and a large Joker in view.

The Fire and Roses Joker slot has also added some bonus mechanics to the gameplay. The bonus features include the Wild symbol, the selection of Jackpot values available, and the Free Spins bonus rounds.

    Smoking Hot Fruits

Newcomer developer 1X2Gaming is the developer behind the Smoking Hot Fruits slot, which was released in 2020. The developers have released this title, drawing inspiration from the series’ previous title, Reel Fruits, which shares many gameplay elements. The visual design is fitting for the classic theme, with a fiery atmosphere beneath the playgrid. Additionally, to further showcase the classic theme, the developers have set the gameplay on a 5×3 reel layout, with 5 fixed paylines.

The developers have stuck to their simplistic approach with this slot; however, they have added Wilds and Scatters in the gameplay. The Wild symbols can substitute for base game symbols, and the Scatters may trigger Instant Cash Prizes if 3 or more are landed on the reels in the same spin.

    9 Masks of Fire

The 9 Masks of Fire slot is an interesting mix of a classic slot theme and modernised mechanics, making for an overall fun slot game. This title was released by Gameburger Studios in 2019 and has since influenced a range of subsequent titles, many of which feature similar elements. Despite featuring some modern game mechanics, the 9 Masks of Fire slot game has a design showcasing the classic theme well. In the backdrop of the 9 Masks of Fire slot, there is not much to note, which is common for slots in the genre. A red colour palette dominates the visuals, with some intricate patterns at the top and bottom of the view. The playgrid is slightly off-centred to the right and features a 5×3 layout with 20 paylines.

The bonus features in the 9 Masks of Fire slot are designed to elevate the overall gameplay. In the 9 Masks of Fire slot, there are Wild symbols and Free Spins rounds, as well as the 9 Masks of Fire feature that can award Instant Cash Prizes if 3 or more Scatters are landed.
