    “Snooki” Shares Shocking Health Update

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi announced Friday (2/20) that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She let fans know in an eight minute TikTok Video her results at her post-op appointment. And the results indicated that she now had stage 1 cervical cancer. They figured it out by conducting a cone biopsy which is a procedure that scrapes a piece of cervical tissue to check the cells. Unfortunately it did come back showing a cell called adenocarcinoma (cancer).

The 38-year-old “Jersey Shore” star wanted to shed light on the situation given that millions of women suffer through this type of thing silently.

“Obviously not the news that I was hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!”

“That’s why I’m literally telling you guys to get your pap smears done. I’m 38 years old … and now look at me,” she said. “And instead of just putting it off because I didn’t want to go and it hurt and I was scared, no, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there. But it’s only stage 1 and it’s curable.”

Polizzi has been advocating for people her age and beyond to get checked for cancer. She first mentioned getting a routine colonoscopy on TikTok back in January.

She has a PET scan scheduled next to determine whether or not there is cancer elsewhere in her body. Sometimes when doctors find cancer in one area it can mean that it was spread there from another area. So it’s good she’s getting the full check up. Unfortunately for those our age it’s often not covered by insurance unless your over a certain age or they found something that warrants it.

Cervical cancer is one of the most common types of cancer for women. Cervical cancer, which forms in the lower uterus, is almost always caused by a long-lasting, high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. It is highly preventable through HPV vaccination and treatable with early detection, often through Pap smears. Symptoms include abnormal bleeding, pain, or unusual discharge.
