We had the chance to sit down with “The Boyfriend” commentator extraordinaire and drag queen Durian Lollobrigida to revisit the season. They dish on who they think experienced the most growth, the inspiration they took from second chances, and representation.
Durian serves as an incredibly important bridge between the boys of the Green Room, the commentators, and the Japanese public. As one of the queer panelists they are able to help provide context to the audience from their unique perspective.
They’re back for season 2 along with fellow panelists Megumi, Chiaki Horan, Thelma Aoyama, and Yoshimi Tokui.
More about “The Boyfriend” Season 2
After the summer breeze of Season 1’s seaside Green Room, the setting shifts dramatically to snowy Hokkaido. In Season 2, ten boys from more diverse backgrounds gather to confront their feelings in a world of white. Through unexpected reunions, quiet misunderstandings, and moments where love and friendship blur, each of them searches for an answer that belongs only to them.

A new chapter begins for the boys — and their stories start now.
All episodes of “The Boyfriend” season 2 are streaming now on Netflix.
