It looks like HBO’s “The White Lotus” has selected the hotel it will use for its upcoming 4th season. In November, it was confirmed by the network that this season would be set in France. Now we know that the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez will serve as the fictitious White Lotus resort.

In the previous season, HBO had a marketing partnership with the Four Seasons hotel chain. As part of this deal, the first 2 seasons used Four Seasons hotels as locations. Season 3 was primarily shot at the Four Seasons as well, but with 3 other non-Four Seasons hotels as well. Season 4 will be the first shot without this deal in place.
The Château de La Messardière was built in the 19th century as a wedding gift from Gabriel Dupuy d’Angeac, a wealthy merchant, to his daughter Louise Dupuy D’Angeac and her husband, cavalry officer Henry Brisson de La Messardière. Over time, the building changed anytime falling into a state of disrepair. It wasn’t fully restored until 1989 by Jean-Claude Rochette, Chief Architect of Historic Monuments of France.
According to the Château de La Messardière, this restoration blends Anglo-Moorish, Oriental, Mediterranean, Florentine, and Provençal styles. All while preserving its historic charm, despite giving it touches of modern elegance.
Plot details and casting choices for the newest season of “The White Lotus” are still firmly under wraps. HBO has declined to comment on the location for season 4 at this time.
We will keep you posted on updates about the newest season of “The White Lotus” as the project develops. All 3 seasons are currently streaming on HBO Max.
