Fans of football and football-based video games are probably very familiar with the name John Madden. The NFL legend is getting his own biopic, “Madden,” courtesy of Prime Video.
Amazon MGM Studios has just released the first teaser trailer starring Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage (“Dream Senerio”) in the titular role.

“Madden” is written and directed by David O. Russell (“The Fighter”) with Cambron Clark, penning an earlier version of the script. It follows Madden’s career from his time coaching the Oakland Raiders, to the 1976 Super Bowl, to his newfound fame on television and in video games.
Cage stars opposite fellow Oscar-winner Christian Bale (“The Bride”) as Al Davis, the owner of the Raiders during Madden’s time with the team. John Mulaney (“The Bear”) plays Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn (“The Studio”) portrays Virginia Madden, and Sienna Miller (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) as Carol Davis. Comedian Shane Gillis (“Tires“) also stars in a currently unspecified role.
“Madden” will be a Prime Video exclusive that is set to premiere on Thanksgiving Day 2026. You can check out the first teaser trailer below:
