Tom Cruise Spotted on Roof of London’s BFI IMAX

Oscar-nominee Tom Cruise is on top of the world, or at least a building, with the upcoming premiere of “Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning.” On May 11th, Cruise was spotted on the roof of London’s BFI IMAX cinema as a promotional stunt for the film. Apparently, the huge ad on the side of the building wasn’t getting the message across.

He is also receiving the prestigious BFI Fellowship, which will be presented at a celebratory dinner on May 12th.

X (formally Twitter) user tsureil captured a video of Cruise, in a suit, atop the BFI IMAX, just checking out the views. Like most videos of celebrities in odd predicaments, it soon went viral. Later that evening, the actor attended a screening of “Mission: Impossible — Fallout” at the theater. So there is little to no question it is him in the video.

During the screening, Cruise answered some questions and reflected on the end of this decades-long franchise. He even explained how the iconic “blue is glue, red is dead” line was developed between him and director Christopher McQuarrie.

“I go, ‘McQ, I need help with this scene. I’m trying to figure out the gloves.’ He goes, ‘OK, well how’s it work?’ I said, ‘Well, red light means it won’t stick anymore and blue means it sticks and I can go up the wall and climb the whole thing,’” Cruise explains. “Without even a breath, he goes, ‘Oh. Blue is glue, red is dead!’ And he proceeded to write the rest of the scene. Simon [Pegg] was like, ‘Who is that guy?!’ I said, ‘Oh yeah, that’s McQ. He’s going to write the rest of the movie.’”

“Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning” will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14th. It hits theaters nationwide on May 23rd. You can check out the trailer and viral video below:
