It has been almost eight years since we’ve seen Mick Taylor grace the big or small screen. Cineverse’s horror division, Bloody Disgusting, is here to fix that with “Wolf Creek: Legacy” The film will be the third movie in the slasher franchise, alongside a TV series.

“Legacy” will follow an American family visiting Australia. Unfortunately, they just so happen to find themselves in Mick Taylor’s hunting grounds. When the parents sacrifice themselves to save their children, the kids find themselves alone and hunted in the vast Australian wilderness.

John Jarratt will reprise his role as Mick Taylor, aka the Outback Killer. Starring alongside Jay Ryan and Laura Gordon. It will be directed by Sean Lahiff (“Carnifex”) with “Wolf Creek” creator Greg McLean producing.

    Thoughts On “Legacy”

“I’m thrilled to be returning to ‘Wolf Creek’ with this exciting creative team, led by director Sean Lahiff, armed with a fantastic and genuinely frightening script,” McLean said. “Mick Taylor will be terrorizing tourists, horror fans and the big screen once again very soon!”

“’Wolf Creek’ is one of the greatest slasher movies of all time with one of the most terrifying villains,” says Erick Opeka, Cineverse’s chief strategy officer and president. “We’re incredibly excited to bring Mick Taylor back to the big screen in what will be the perfect addition to our library alongside ‘Terrifier 3’ and our reimagining of ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night.’”

The franchise started in 2005 and was followed by “Wolf Creek 2” in 2013. A TV show by the same name, launched in 2016 and ran for two seasons. The entire franchise is currently streaming on Tubi.

Production for “Wolf Creek: Legacy ” is expected to begin later this year. With plans to hit theaters in the fall of 2026.
